Elan Europa Elise

Welcome to Lotusland in the 21st Century, the latest pages in the life and times of 30+years of Lotus motoring.

(or not motoring as the case has often been)

If you've come here from the original 1998 web site, then you'll know that things don't always go to plan with these old cars. If you've just stumbled on this page through a search engine then you might want to check out a bit of time-warp website design from the link to the '98 website and follow the history of the cars from those rose-tinted days.

But on with the story. As promised on the original website, this is an update started in 2011 of the cars and how they've fared over the intervening years.

I'll have you know that suit was very trendy in 1980

Before the cars, an update on the owners so that you know who you're reading about.

That lass who stuck by me in the early days of Lotus motoring despite all events is still here.

In 2003 I took early retirement and we started to look around the country for somewhere else to live. After 23 years in the Yorkshire Pennines we decided we'd had enough snow and rain for the moment.

In 2005 we moved to a small village in Lincolnshire with a quieter lifestyle, some outbuildings that looked like they would make decent toy boxes and a bit more parking space.

Within a month of arriving we'd found more toys to play with, one of which was a house buried in it's own little jungle.

2011 and still at the cutting edge of fashion

The Elise drove down here, the Elan & Europa followed on a transporter. Both were capable of making the journey at the time, but I know these cars of old and it was winter after all......
